Dr. Connolly attended Dalhousie Medical School and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Dalhousie in 1998. He completed sub-specialty training in Trauma and Joint Arthroplasty Reconstruction at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario under the mentorships of Dr. Jim Waddell and Dr. Emile Schemitsch from 1998 to 1999.

Dr. Connolly accepted a position with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Saint John in August of 1999 and took over as the Clinical Department Head in 2004. His leadership role within the medical community in Saint John is extensive and he provides expert opinion and guidance within a number of committees focused on optimizing surgical access, patient safety, and resource utilization.

Dr. Connolly’s surgical expertise centers around lower extremity arthritis and joint reconstruction. He also does a limited amount of lumbar spine surgery. These skills translate to the treatment of patients suffering from trauma and varied orthopaedic ailments.
